Safeguarding Policy

This document sets out Strive To Be CIC’s policy on Safeguarding. This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, trustees, and anyone acting on behalf of Strive To Be CIC.
1. Statement of Commitment
Strive To Be CIC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk. We believe everyone has the right to feel safe, respected, and supported.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all activities, whether delivered in person or online, and to all staff, volunteers, trustees, and partners.
3. Principles
We aim to:
- Create safe and inclusive environments
- Prevent harm through good practice
- Act promptly on safeguarding concerns
- Work with relevant agencies where necessary
4. Recognising Abuse or Harm
Safeguarding concerns may include:
- Physical, emotional, or sexual abuse
- Neglect or exploitation
- Bullying, harassment, or discrimination
- Self-harm or mental health concerns
5. Reporting Concerns
All safeguarding concerns must be taken seriously.
If there is immediate danger, emergency services should be contacted.
Concerns should otherwise be reported as soon as possible to:

Concerns will be recorded, handled confidentially, and escalated appropriately.
6. Confidentiality
Information will be shared only on a need-to-know basis. Confidentiality may be breached if it is necessary to protect someone from harm.
7. Safer Working Practices
- Clear boundaries maintained at all times
- No inappropriate physical contact
- Respect for personal space and privacy
- Avoiding one-to-one situations where possible
- Where transport of children or young people is required, this must follow the Transport Policy and relevant risk assessments
