🎉 New Mentoring Partnership with Medway Council & Medway Youth Justice Service 🎉

Strive to Be CIC is proud to announce that we have been awarded the opportunity to work with Medway Youth Justice Team as part of the Turnaround Programme.

Turnaround is a youth early intervention programme led by the Ministry of Justice. The programme provides multi-year funding to Youth Justice Services (YJSs) across England and Wales, enabling them to intervene earlier and improve outcomes for young people who are on the cusp of entering the youth justice system. This funding allows YJSs to support children and young people who are not currently on their statutory caseload.

As part of this programme, Strive to Be CIC will deliver an intensive 12–16 hours per week mentoring and sport programme, working closely with schools and partner agencies to provide consistent, positive support for young people. Through mentoring, sport and education, we will help young people build confidence, resilience, positive relationships and aspirations for the future.

We are incredibly excited to be working alongside the Medway Youth Justice Team, supporting young people through the power of sport and our mentoring programme.

This was a highly competitive tender process, so we are especially proud to have been selected to deliver this important work.

Rob, Director of Strive to Be CIC, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to have been given this opportunity to build on the great work we've already done with young people. Growing up in Medway myself, being able to personally lead this project and mentor young people in my local community is something I am incredibly passionate about.

Our programme will provide young people with 12–16 hours of support each week through mentoring, sport and positive activities. We have a fantastic team of role models, coaches and mentors who will build strong relationships with schools, partners and, most importantly, the young people themselves.

We believe in mentoring through each young person's passions and interests, helping them set meaningful goals, explore opportunities and develop the belief and determination to achieve them. Alongside this, we'll work with schools and partner agencies to create clear exit plans and support educational progression, employment opportunities and long-term career pathways. Our aim is to help every young person realise their potential and make positive, lasting changes in their lives.”

We'd like to thank Medway Youth Justice Team for placing their trust in us. We look forward to making a real and lasting difference to the lives of young people across Medway.
